STATES & DISTRICTS / CALIFORNIA / FRESNO
Use this Fresno guide to find the correct crash-report request, understand local data coverage, and reach official traffic resources. Start with the investigating agency and report number on your paperwork.
Choose Fresno’s online or Records Lobby route
Fresno Police offers collision reports online with a convenience fee and without a report charge at its Records Lobby. The city warns that lobby waits can be long. Check current access rules and hours before choosing the in-person option.
For the online search, the city asks for the collision date and any two of the listed identifiers: street name, case number, involved party’s surname, or registered owner’s surname. Match the spelling and date to your paperwork. An early unsuccessful search does not prove that no report exists; contact Records if you need help locating it.
LOCAL RESOURCE CONTEXT
Fresno’s safety dashboard covers a historical period
Fresno adopted its Vision Zero plan on May 21, 2026. The city’s accompanying dashboard is limited to Fresno Police-reported collisions from 2019–2023. Those dates and agency limits should stay attached to any comparison of local streets. A historical dashboard should not be described as a live crash count or a complete account of every agency’s investigations.
Official traffic resources: Fresno area
Caltrans QuickMap provides regional travel information. Select the relevant roadway, direction, and event category and check the source’s own update time. Coverage may include construction, hazards, and incidents outside city limits; it is not a complete record of all local crashes.
This opens an external service. An automated Fresno feed is not connected here. A missing alert does not mean roads are clear. Do not use traffic maps while driving.
Keep a useful record for follow-up
- Save the investigating agency, report number, date, and precise road or intersection.
- Retain your request confirmation and a dated copy of any report received.
- Keep original photos, repair estimates, and towing or rental receipts together.
- List missing documents or corrections for the records office separately from insurance questions.
