STATES / ARIZONA / PHOENIX

Phoenix Police offers a specific Traffic Crash request category and separate options for photographs, recordings, and other records. This guide helps you choose the right request and distinguishes Phoenix street-safety data from current highway alerts.

LOCAL ROAD SAFETY CONTEXT

Phoenix prioritizes its High Injury Network

The city’s Road Safety Action Plan uses crash data to identify a High Injury Network and prioritize safety improvements. Phoenix incorporated Vision Zero goals into the plan in January 2022.

Use this planning resource to understand the city’s safety priorities. Check the date range and geographic scope of each map before comparing locations; planning data is not evidence that a particular road is clear today.

Request the Phoenix Police crash record

The Police Public Records and Services Bureau links to its online request portal. Choose Traffic Crash for the crash report. Other categories cover photographs, on-body camera recordings, 911 recordings, and calls for service. Request those separately if needed; a report order does not automatically include all supporting material.

The bureau says processing depends on the size, complexity, and nature of the request. Completion notices arrive by email, and completed online requests can be downloaded through your portal account. Keep your confirmation and check current fees before submitting.

Confirm Phoenix Police or Arizona DPS

A collision described as “Phoenix” is not enough to identify the report holder. Use the responding agency and report number from your paperwork. For a state-trooper investigation, follow the DPS records route in our Arizona hub.

Current traffic sources: Phoenix area

Use AZ 511 for roadway events and alerts. Check the road, direction, event type, and last update. Roadwork and disabled-vehicle events should not be treated as confirmed crashes.

This opens the official service. Accident Advisory does not currently display an automated Phoenix feed.

Separate a crash report from an investigation conclusion

An initial report or traffic event may not answer every question about what happened. Keep later agency correspondence with the original record, and identify the version or date when sharing it with an insurer. Do not infer fault or injury severity from a dispatch label.

Arizona rules and practical next steps
